The Legend of Zelda may finally go the DLC route

If there’s one major franchise that’s yet to explore the possibilites of DLC, it’s The Legend of Zelda.

But if a recent interview with the team at Nintendo Life is anything to go by, that’s about to change.

Series Producer, Eiji Aonuma spoke to Nintendo Life and confirmed to them, exclusively, that Nintendo are exploring ways to make DLC work for The Legend of Zelda.

We’re certainly looking at different ways to add on content that would enhance the experience for the user – maybe more places to explore or just to enrich the experience beyond what is on the disc

He has some reservations, though…

But we also have to take into consideration that if we charge for this content then it needs to be worth it for the user. So it’s certainly a balancing an act but I can’t say that it is something we’re not considering.

New dungeons, new areas, items, monsters and even skins are just some of the things that could completely change the Zelda experience.

Would you want DLC in your Zelda game?

Make sure to read the full interview as there are some other interesting tidbits enclosed.
