World War Z is coming to current gen with a free update launching later this month.

Announced today by Saber Interactive, the upgrade will provide 4K at 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The best part is the update will be free if you already own the game on PS4 or Xbox One.

Horde Mode XL will also be added to the game as an exclusive for current-gen players. The mode is as it says on the tin, but with the added twist of players facing a special XL in between the normal waves of zombies.

Mutators will also be added to the game as a free update on January 24, which also implement a revamped weapon progression system as well as new weapons to try out.
