Chimera Squad returns us to the world of XCOM in new standalone title

PC Owners are in for an unexpected treat on April 24 when we get a new standalone XCOM game.

Announced today by 2K, you’ll be able to pick it up on PC for the price of £8.50.

Set five years after XCOM 2, humans, hybrids, and aliens now work together in City 31, but not everyone is a willing participant.

A Chimera Squad come together to fight back and protect the city from falling into chaos.

This standalone game features 11 unique agents, as well as specialised and complementary classes.

With a new Breach Mode and Interleaved turns, Chimera Squad sounds like a fun and unique take on XCOM.

We look forward to checking it out when it launches in just a few short weeks. Could this be a lead-in to a future XCOM game?
