Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate begins the Year of Prophecy from today

Destiny 2’s first expansion in Year of Prophecy is available from today.

The Edge of Fate begins the next ‘multi-year chapter’ for Destiny 2 and introduces ‘Kepler’ a new destination and campaign for players.

Split into four regions, players also have new abilities, such as Matterspark that lets you transform into a ball of energy that sounds like a lot like Samus Arans’ Morph Ball and in so doing, solve puzzles.

A World Tier system has also been added to The Edge of Fate along with Brave and Legendary difficulties, as well as Fabled and Mythic tiers that can be later unlocked.

Destiny 2 is also getting an update as well with an updated UI, Portal system, and even Solo Ops for self play-sessions, as well as Armor 3.0 that overhauls the game’s armor system with new mods and bonuses tied to armor collections.

New Legendary weapon archetypes are also built in with a transparent gier tiering system, and weapons like a Crossbow with reclaimable ammo, Hand Cannon, longbow and more.

Finally, a new raid will be added to the game on July 19 –  The Desert Perpetual – once you’ve completed The Edge of Fate campaign.

With the above Roadmap you can also see another Major Update is to come – Ash and Iron – and then from December, Destiny 2 Renegades will launch continuing the Year of Prophecy.
