Ubisoft’s new educational tool – The Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed – will arrive on February 20.
The Discovery Tour will allow players to explore a 3D recreation of ancient Egypt, with no battles, time pressures or constraints in gameplay.
The update comes at no additional cost to owners of the game, but can be purchased separately on Uplay and Steam for £15.99.
This is a unique entertainment and educational experience which takes players to famous landmarks, such as the Nile Delta, the Sand Sea, Giza plateau, Alexandria and more. You can follow 75 guided tours or explore on your own free will.
Jean Guesdon, Creative Director of Assassin’s Creed. “With the Discovery Tour by Assassin’s Creed: Ancient Egypt, we give everyone interested in Ancient Egypt the chance to enjoy its beauty and the realisisation that video games can be a source of inspiring knowledge.”
Maxime Durand, in-house Historian at Ubisoft Montreal said. “We’ve been in touch with teachers from the very first instalment of Assassin’s Creed games. Many of them already used the games during their History classes but soon came to realisethat what they needed was an easily accessible educative tool based in our historical reconstructions.”
