Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons gets free character DLC in April

Two new characters are coming to Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons next month.

Launching as a free DLC across all formats, Maximum Entertainment and Secret Base is expanding its roster with two new playable characters and this will be the first of several planned character updates with six more fighters due to be added throughout 2025.

The new fighters are Jeff and Abore, each offering their own unique fighting styles and move sets. Jeff is the Lee brothers childhood rival and trained with them, but his skills aren’t as sharp as the brothers and as such, found his jealousy grew. Jeff then went on his own path to try his own fighting style and now has joined the roster with his own unpredictable style.

Abore, meanwhile, is an ex-soldier who has ‘raw power and unwavering calm’. His strength and resilience are his strongest qualities but he is also a quiet brawler who offers few words, just fists.

The DLC launches next month as a free update across all formats for Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons.
