For The King has just received a generous free update, adding in a competitive multiplayer mode to the turn-based roguelike.
Releasing today, the update is entitled ‘Gold Rush’ and will pit players against each other in a bid to fight through the Midnight Woods and deposit gold in Lucky’s Vault for Fergus the Mad!
Players will go head to head with ghouls, ghosts, and fiends, just in time for Halloween as they fight for their lives then take gold from ancient crypts and abandoned houses.
Gold Rush has been designed for up to three other players with the winner bagging themselves a pretty decent reward.
Players will have endless lives to get the job done and there’s no PVP, so you can’t just go around hitting each other, you’ll have to be a bit more creative than that to make sure you’re the last one standing.
For The King is out now on PC with a console version shipping in 2019.
