Metal Gear Online will be making a comeback in The Phantom Pain and is in development at Kojima Productions right now.
Recently deactivated in Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Online split its fanbase down the middle. Some loved it. Some barely touched it. The service never really attracted big numbers.
Undeterred, however, Kojima san and his team will be giving it another shot in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
In an interview with CVG, Hideo Kojima revealed.
Yes, we plan on creating Metal Gear Online. Multiplayer right now is being created at our LA studio as well as us. We’re working closely to create a vast multiplayer for all our fans.
The game will also be a fully open-world adventure and feature user-created missions, potentially with input from phones and tablets.
Will you give this one a shot? Maybe we’ll get Red Dead style MP action as hinted at during Microsoft’s showing of the game during their E3 presentation.
