Metro Exodus on PC will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for one year but the DLC will not be affected.
A new partnership with Epic means that Metro Exodus will no longer be available to buy on Steam or any other PC store until 14 February 2020. Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game will, of course, remain unaffected.
This does present a lot of confusion for PC owners, however. Pre-orders have been open on Steam for several weeks now and if you’ve already pre-ordered the game you will still be able to play it on Steam when the game unlocks.
Bonuses and Expansion Pass content will also be honored and still delivered by Steam. This includes the official soundtrack and digital artbook, and all premium DLC included in the Gold Edition.
However, if you’ve ordered a physical copy it will ship with an Epic Games Store key. And as of now, you can’t buy Metro Exodus anywhere else on PC.
Deep Silver have confirmed that the Epic Games Store will not receive any exclusive DLC, though, and all DLC will release simultaneously across all platforms. There’s still no set date for Metro Exodus DLC, but an update is expected once the game ships on February 15th.
This is another massive get for Epic who also recently revealed that The Division 2 will be skipping Steam and going to the Epic Games Store instead. These games join Super Meat Boy Forever, Hades, Ashen, and more.
