In today’s Pokemon Direct, it was announced that you will be given the original starters from Red and Blue by the Professor at a later point in the game.
As well as getting the new X and Y starters you will be given a choice of the original starters by the Professor. These Pokemon won’t be exactly as you remember them, as now they will have the ability to megaevolve.
It was announced that Megaevolution is tied to a ‘Mega band’ worn by the trailer, and combined with a Megastone you can utilise these in- battle evolutions, to deal major damage.
Pokemon X and Y will be released worldwide on October 12th.
