Pokémon Friends and Pokémon Champions announced for Switch and Mobile

Two new Pokémon games have been announced, with one launching today on Switch and Mobile.

Pokémon Friends releases today on Switch and Mobile and seems to be a puzzle centered game with over 1,200 puzzles from easy going to trickier.

Once you solve a puzzle, you’ll get yarn that can then be used to stitch and create a plush Pokémon. The game is encouraging daily playing by giving you a stamp on a calendar to log your results against the day’s puzzles.

You can even customise and create a Plush room with your own furniture, wallpaper and other decorations. The game is a Free-to-start experience with optional in-game purchases available.

Meanwhile Pokémon Champions has been announced for 2026, for both Mobile and Switch and will see you take part in classic Pokémon battles across the ages.

You’ll be able to use familiar mechanics such as abilities and moves in a Pokémon style arena and even bring in your classic Pokémon from Pokémon HOME with cross-platform battles on Switch and Mobile and various different modes.

Pokémon Friends is available on Switch and Mobile right now. Pokémon Champions launches in 2026.
