Pokémon Pokopia will support GameShare at launch

The excellent looking Pokémon Pokopia will release in the next few weeks and it’s looking superb.

Bringing a unique perspective to the Pokeverse, this spin-off is inspired by cozy titles such as Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley but also seems to have its own distinct charm and mechanics to make it feel like a true Pokémon game.

The most interesting element, however, is that the game is only available to purchase for Nintendo Switch 2 but the exciting GameShare feature will enable you to stream it to a friend’s Nintendo Switch 1 console!

According to a recent Treehouse Presentation, this will be for a standalone multiplayer mode which feels like it will be sandbox in nature where you build a town. This will not connect to the game’s story mode, though players with their own copies of the game seem to be able to join and play your game and see your town.

Regardless, having the option to play the game at all on a format it hasn’t released on and for free seems pretty incredible to us.

We’ll find out much more about this when Pokémon Pokopia launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5th.
