Oh, we’re so surprised…
We’re not really…
If a recent EA Maxis survey is to be believed, SimCity might just be getting an offline mode.
A Reddit user got the scoop and received the survey from EA Maxis directly.
The survey describes Classic Mode..
“In offline or online mode, play a single functioning city using cheats and unlocks allowing you to create the perfect city.”
The survey also listed a few other interesting tidbits, such as Guilds, Larger Cities, a Subway System, Bus and Street Car lines, shared online events. Even importing The Sims…
Excitingly, there’s also consideration around implementing tools that lets players recreate London, and presumably other major cities down the line as well…
“Create a portion of London with Big Ben in your city, where you’ll always know when it’s time for tea. Includes Double Decker Bus Terminal that cuts down on traffic with their larger passenger capacities.”
The game is scheduled to release for Mac sometime this Summer, so it wouldn’t be a big surprise if that was treated as a relaunch for the game across all platforms and some of the above functionality was implemented effectively.
Would an offline mode encourage you to buy SimCity?
