The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered shadowdrops and brings back Horse Armor DLC

In one of the biggest game shocks in some time, The Elder Scrolls is back and in a huge way.

Nineteen years after its original release, Oblivion has been completely remastered and shockingly shadowdropped earlier this week.

The visuals have been stunningly updated with Unreal Engine 5 which also includes updated character models, lip syncing and much more.

Remade by Virtuous, there’s also updated gameplay tweaks, such as sprinting, updated combat animations, and new sound effects and hit reactions, as well as an improved third person perspective.

On top of that is a ton of Quality of Life improvements, such as modernised levelling, visual updates to the UI, new dialogue and much more.

But most importantly? Horse armor is back, both as part of the base game but also as part of the Deluxe Upgrade so you can still technically pay for it, but alongside other content. Nice!

This is much more than a remaster, but still isn’t being fully described as a remake. It’s pretty incredible all the same and it’s now available on PC, PS and Xbox Game Pass!
