The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered arrives January 19 with all DLC and new features

The Last of Us Part 2 is finally getting its official PlayStation 5 release later this month.

Following The Last of Us Part 1, a full remake of the original game, the sequel is getting its turn to really take full advantage of the PlayStation 5 feature set.

This will include all available content for the game that launched, but also include a ton of upgrades and additional features, such as No Return, a brand new roguelike mode for this release.

Upgraded for PS5, there are visual performance updates like 4K output, unlocked Framerate options, as well as faster load times and audio and accessibility enhancements.

This also sees improved draw distance, textures, shadows and more, including full DualSense controller functionality and support, like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

The new No Return mode is essentially wave-based, survival combat, complete with different foes, locations and boss battles. All built around unique gameplay modifiers and playable characters, such as Dina, Jesse, Lev and Tommy.
Excitingly, some lost levels have also been added into this release, letting you play early development versions of never before seen levels – Jackson Party, Sewers and Boar Hunt. All of this is enhanced even further with developer commentary.
A guitar free play mode is also added in, as well as a Speedrun and Photo Mode, plus new unlockable character and weapon skins for Ellie and Abby.
Best news of all? If you own it on PS4, you can get the Remastered version for just $10 extra when the game launches.
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered launches initially on PS5 on January 19th.
