Tomb Raider I-III Remastered adds Challenge Mode, arrives on Switch 2

In a surprise update today, Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics have updated Tomb Raider I-III Remastered.

The free update adds a new ‘Challenge Mode’ content update that provides new level difficulty customisation, new modes, as well as outfits and achievements to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Lara Croft.

In addition, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered will be releasing on Nintendo Switch 2 and on iOS and Android Devices for the first time.

The Challenge Mode adds difficulty customisation options where you can change your health stats, add damage bonuses, enemies, and bosses. You can even unlock new things by increasing the challenge rating. And there are 10 new Outfits to grab.

You’ll get these by completing achievements but these aren’t just cosmetic changes. The outfits actually offer new benefits, such as being able to run and dive faster.

In total, the update adds 15 new achievements whether you’re on Xbox or PlayStation.

This is a great addition to the game, and finally coming to Switch 2 is also an awesome bonus. Plus if you already own it on Switch 1, you will be able to upgrade to the Switch 2 version at no additional cost. The Switch 2 version is able to handle 1440p at 60 FPS docked, with 1080p at 120 FPS in handheld. Which sounds magnificent!

The Challenge Mode update for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is now available!
