A new patch is coming to Wasteland 3 this month which will add a host of new features and improvements.
From inXile’s Steam Page, we’ve learned that a new Permadeath mode is coming in the patch title ‘Death & Taxes’ and this does exactly what it says on the tin.
In the infamous words of Ivan Drago ‘If he dies, he dies’. – So you can lose characters forever during a playthrough. This is only available in single-player, and the feature can’t be disabled once activated.
Once a party member is downed, you’ll only have a certain amount of time to bring them back before they’re lost forever and the option to visit a Doc / Nitro Spike won’t be available to you.
If all Rangers in a party are lost, you’ll get a Game Over screen and need to restart over. Eek!
Another new feature is Difficult Skill Checks Mode which increases all skill checks in the game by +2 to a maximum of 10.
You can also respec characters now but it comes at a cost, of course, and there are some new character customisation options.
On top of all that, there’s a ton more optimisation and improvements for the game featuring quality of life updates and more.
The patch is beginning to roll out in early March and apparently is just the beginning of what we can expect from Wasteland 3 in 2021.
