Assassin’s Creed IV On Wii U Is Visually ‘Some where between current and next gen’, Works With Companion App

Sitting down with Assassin’s Creed Producer Martin Schelling, and lead game designer Jean-Sebastien Decant, they revealed to Expansive that the Wii U version will exceed its current gen counter parts visually, he also confirmed that the AC:IV companion app will be fully compatible with the Wii U version of the game.

‘It will be I think, in between the current gen and next gen consoles. We could have had some of the tools from the companion on the second screen, but because the companion app will be available with Wii U too we didn’t include them.’

With many Wii U ports often being rushed and not taking full advantage of Nintendo’s console’s more modern hardware it is great to hear that Ubisoft’s team are taking the time to push the system.

To see what we thought of the game check out our in depth PS4 preview, and stay tuned for the full interview. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be released at the end of the month for PS3,Xbox 360. Wii U, Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions will follow on November 22nd.

  1. Wiiu is somewhere inbetween PS3 and PS4 so no surprise there….
On a graphical scale this is what should be expected. If PS3 is 1 and PS4 is 10 then wiiu is somewhere around the 4 mark.

By the way, Hello, “Nintedward”. I have seen you on “Wii U Daily” and possibly on “MyNintendoNews”.

I am “Guest10000000000000″/”TheScienceEnthusiast1130”. I support ALL video game consoles. And, I support SCIENCE. The first website I started posting my comments using my “Disqus” account was “Wii U Daily”. However, I got banned due to spamming 24/7, posting angry rants about some of the users, and possibly some trolling. Then I moved to “Xbox One Daily”, which is my main “safe” base to date. However, I have travelled through approximately more than 20 websites to date. And sometimes got banned. Even from “Twitter”.

Just so you know, I am a strong fan of “Wii U” and “Nintendo”, because they are the ones who changed the video game industry into what it is now.

By the way, would you be able to take a visit to “Xbox One Daily” and post a comment of what you think about it in one of the “Xbox One Daily” articles? It would be interesting if you are on “Xbox One Daily” as well.

  2. Nintendi is always looking to improve ways of input, since the first NES. This is something no other company is able to accomplish. There would be no Playstation Move, no Kinect, no Steam Biometric Controller and so on, without Nintendo. Even the normal Controllers are just improved versions of what Nintendo basically inveted for their console back in the day. They deserve support, so we get new innovations. If it wasnt for the Wii and its success, we would still use a normal Controller on the next gen consoles, like the gen before and the gen before and the gen before and so on 🙂
