Nintendo confirms an emergency maintenance update for Nintendo Network services from Monday 28th January to Tuesday 29th January. In addition to recent Pokemon games, the eShop will be down during this time.
It’s unclear what Nintendo intend to fix, but we do know that network services for certain games will be hindered. The eShop/DSi shop will also be down.

While these are the confirmed services affected between those times, it’s also possible further services/games could experience problems.
