Uncharted 4 gets Horde Mode in new Survival Update

The co-operative element of Uncharted 4 Multiplayer is about to get a substantial addition in Mid-December with the new Survival mode.

While the mode can also be played solo, this is being touted as the equivalent of a Gears of War Horde mode, though there does not seem to be any couch co-op available due to development restrictions.

Expected to be fully revealed at next weeks’ Playstation Experience, this wave-based mode lets up to three players team together to fight enemies of varying difficulty while also tackling various objectives.

It’s based on the Co-Op Arena from Uncharted 2 and 3, expanding upon the core gameplay found there, with progression systems, upgradeable arsenals, and fending off hardcore bosses.

10 maps are expected to ship with the update, and players will have to contend against a maximum of 50 waves against the Shoreline mercenaries. During Survival, you’ll also need to defend particular areas, collect treasure within a time limit, and more.

The difficulty also scales to you, depending on how well you’re doing in the game. You can even unlock a Crushing Difficulty to really test the limits of your abilities.

We’ll keep our eyes peeled on the Playstation Experience next week for more information.
