The long-awaited Animal Crossing game has been named and will launch next month on mobile platforms.
Pre-Registration for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is now open for iOS and Android owners in a game where players can manage their own campsite, personalise it, and build up their character with a variety of features.
Furniture can be crafted by things you collect in game when you visit recreation sites and do jobs and missions for the residents. You can then take the raw materials to the town blacksmith and craft a whole host of neat stuff.
Just like in the Animal Crossing games of old, different residents have their own preferred styles, so the way you craft your campsite won’t be attractive to everyone, and it can impact the games’ friendship level, where you find out how well you’re getting on with certain animals.
As anticipated, the game will have a microtransaction system and while it is a F2P game, you can purchase Leaf Tickets which can then be traded for materials or speed up game time. These can also be earned through in-game graft, however.
Fishing is back, as well as a multiplayer feature so you can visit a friends campsite, and the ability to customise your camper, Pocket Camp definitely seems more feature rich than most were expecting.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will release Mid-November.
