Control is the latest fantastic game from Remedy that’s already on track to be one of the best this year.
You can read our review to find out more for yourself, but we really loved it. And the good news is more is on the way.
Two expansion packs, to be precise, included in the Control Season Pass. Along with an exclusive side mission.
While no dates have been announced yet, we know Control is set to receive two story-driven DLCs – The Foundation and AWE.
We don’t know too much about these, and from my brief chat with Remedy at Gamescom, they’re not keen to give too much away.
What we do know is that The Foundation will be focused more on the Oldest House itself, going deeper into the origins of the phenomenon.
The blurb states ‘Explore the roots of the Oldest House and discover strange secrets unknown even to the Bureau’.
At this stage, we don’t know if you’ll still play as Jesse or someone else, but it’s definitely peaked our interest. The Oldest House is one of the most interesting parts of the game.
The Second DLC – AWE – seems quite different, and more focused on individual Bureau research.
The blurb says ‘The Bureau studied its most dangerous Altered World Events in this lost sector. The records were sealed, the objects contained, and their powers abandoned. Now, the sector is breached and the objects are loose…’
Sounds like more areas of the Oldest House will open up and perhaps naturally blend into the base game.
One thing Remedy did hint at during our chat at Gamescom is that the pop up missions during the game may have more of a role to play in future DLC. How or why, they wouldn’t say.
The Season Pass costs £19.99 and you’ll get an exclusive side mission – Isolation – available to play now if you grab it today. Sounds like a sweet deal!
Now go play Control and support this awesome studio!
