Destiny 2 Lightfall beams down on February 28 2023

The next major expansion for Destiny 2 finally has a release date.

Lightfall was announced in full during Bungie’s latest showcase event, along with collaborations with Fall Guys, Fortnite and a full release on the Epic Games Store.

Fortnite players can get new outfits from Destiny characters, such as Ikora Ray, Exo Stranger and Commander Zavala, as well as Destiny themed cosmetics like Sparrow Gliders and Back Blings. A new Fortnite Island has also emerged, inspired by Javelin-4 from Destiny 2.

Fall Guys, meanwhile, also has some Destiny themed costumes coming from September 17, including Titan, Hunter and a Warlock.

What’s more, Shadowkeep, Beyond Light and new expansion – The Witch Queen – are free to play across all platforms this week.

Lightfall is supposedly the penultimate chapter of the Destiny 2 Light and Darkness Saga, where players will face off against the former emperor of the Cabal, Calus, and explore a new location, Neomuna.

The expansion introduces a new sub-class, the Strand, which includes a Grapple function along with an all new Destiny campaign.

The 18th Season, Season of Plunder has also begun from today, as the Guardians track down the Kell of Darkness, Eramis.

Pre-orders are open for Lightfall now, with the Standard Edition giving you access to the content, along with Season 20 and some pre-order unlocks.

You can also pre-order the next Annual Pass which unlocks through to Season 23 and provides some additional Quicksilver weapons. You’ll also get to unlock a Secret Stash full of cool additions.

Finally, the King’s Fall Reprised Raid launches in Destiny 2 this week and is a throwback to The Taken King as players face Oryx. This raid will be free for all Destiny 2 players to play.
Destiny 2 Lightfall launches across all formats on February 28, 2023.
