Return to Monkey Island sets sail on September 19, Pre-orders get seemingly pointless DLC

Return to Monkey Island has a date, less than a month away.

On International Talk Like a Pirate Day, we get a long-awaited return to a world spun from the imagination of Ron Gilbert and David Grossman, the sequel to Le Chuck’s Revenge.

Return to Monkey Island releases on Switch and Steam on September 19; hilariously, it seems like pre-orders will get some Horse Armor DLC. An obvious nod to Elder Scrolls Oblivion’s infamously overpriced content, the DLC will just be dumped in the player’s inventory and have no use whatsoever.

Genius.

We can’t wait to go back to Monkey Island, but while we all wait make sure to check out our series of guides that get you ready ahead of Guybrush’s latest voyage.
