Into the Abyss, a new expansion for EVE Online, has been confirmed at EVE Fanfest.

Into the Abyss is said to ‘push the limits of what players can expect with new enemies, gameplay and visuals’.

Set to release May 2018, Into the Abyss will be a free update for all players whether they have a subscription or are playing for free.

There will be exploration and survival gameplay in the form of Abyssal Deadspace, which is a hostile new environment with all kinds of dangers, including new adversaries, the Triglavian Collective.

 

CCP Games have created this expansion to be both a jumping on point for new players and to create some unknown territory for existing ones. This includes hunting for new mutaplasmids which can be combined with existing modules, transforming them into Abyssal modules.

This EVE Fanfest celebrated 15 years of the game and this expansion seems to prove there’s plenty of life left in it yet.
