The plot of Kingdom Hearts III is long and complex, something early reviewers have cited in their coverage, which is why Square have released a series of recap videos.

It’s been years since Kingdom Hearts II, and there’s been an insatiable appetite to try and remember what happened before setting foot in the expansive world of Kingdom Hearts III.

Square have now released five videos in English, offering subtitles in French, German, Italian, and Spanish, entitled ‘Memories’, ‘Darkness’, ‘Departures’, ‘Twilight’, and ‘Dawn’. Each video will go through the events of Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, while providing some context illustrated in spinoff titles.

All videos are embedded below and we highly recommend watching them to give yourself a bit of a refresher. It does a good job of covering all the major details needed to prepare yourself for Sora’s next adventure. It’s also a sad reminder of the role the late, great Leonard Nimoy played in these earlier adventures. RIP.
