Kingpin: Reloaded remasters 1999 Interplay shooter in 2020

Talk about unexpected Friday afternoon announcements, 3D Realms have just confirmed Kingpin is back from the dead.

Created by Interplay and 3D Realms back in 1999, this crime-themed first person shooter saw you recruit gangs and spill blood.

It was a one and done game, with the franchise long considered dead and buried. Until now.

3D Realms have revealed Kingpin: Reloaded will come to PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch later this year with a new Enhanced Mode, 4K Resolution, Controller and ultrawide support.

There’s also tweaks to the Quest and Conversation systems, upgradeable weapons, location based damage. And even a No Violence mode, though the game’s language will still be there for all to hear.

More will be shown off at PAX South this weekend, so expect to hear plenty more really soon.

An announcement trailer doesn’t give lots away but you can sort of see how the game will look and perform.

Kingpin was always an underrated game, so this could be the shot in the arm the franchise needs. Especially if it leads to a brand new game.
