Monster Hunter Wilds First Title Update Arrives April 4

Capcom have just shown off a Monster Hunter Wilds: Showcase today, prepping for the first title update.

Coming April 4, Title Update 1 will introduce Mizutsune to ‘the Forbidden Lands’, as well as the ‘Arch-tempered Rey Dau’, a Grand Hub gathering area, and a Festival Seasonal Event.

New Challenges will be added in the Title Update, beginning with Mizutsune which hunters at Rank 21 can unlock and do battle with it after speaking to Kanya in the Scarlet Forest.

Then at Hunter Rank 41 you can tackle Tempered Mizutsune, and Arch-tempered Rey Dau will be available and debut in an Event Quest if you’re Hunter Rank 50. Same if you want to fight Zoh Shia, which will appear if you want to grind for high-rank hunter and Palico gear.

Arena Quests, Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will also appear with Title Update 1, with Challenge Quests only appearing as limited-time Event and Arena and Challenge Quests and these grant special armor and rewards.

Interestingly, a Grand Hub is also being added to the game, letting you compete in various challenges like a Barrel Bowling Minigame. You can also gather in the village to observe traditions and access a Squad Information Center so you can manage squads in the communal area.

Seasonal content will also be available, beginning with the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance from April 23 – May 7, letting you access limited time meals, and appearences and equipment.

A new outfit will also be added in Title Update 1 for Alma once you’ve beaten a certain side quest, along with classic gestures as free DLC.

Finally, another surprise update is planned for the game at the end of May, which will be a collaboration for another Capcom title. More news on that soon.

Monster Hunter Wilds is out now and comes highly recommended!
