In news that really should surprise no one, but is extremely exciting all the same, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be getting a major online component.
Similar in scope to GTA Online, Red Dead Online takes the multiplayer experiences of the original game, competitive and cooperative, and sets them against the massive, expansive world of Red Dead 2.
Red Dead Online will receive regular updates and adjustments, just as GTA Online has, and is likely to be iterated upon for years to come, ensuring the post-launch content gives the game a long lifespan.
Red Dead Online will be available to anyone who owns a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 on either PS4 or Xbox One with an Online Public Beta going live this November. This is to help Rockstar tweak, balance and update the experience and polish it to a desired standard.
While we don’t have the full details on what to expect, IGN did a Q&A which highlights some of the things Rockstar are thinking about going into launch.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches October 26th.
