The Tyranny of King Washington ‘like a seven & a half hour TV show’.

In an interview with Expansive, Marc-Alexis Cote, Creative Director on Assassin’s Creed 3: The Tyranny of King Washington, has revealed the full playtime of all three episodes.

When asked how much content would be available across all three episodes, Marc-Alexis Cote had this to say…

Across all three episodes we have more than seven and a half hours of content. So we have two and an half hours per episode. So, yes, this is a new model that we are trying. We are trying to do episodic content.

The Tyranny of King Washington will also feature various optional side-quests which will tie the DLC into the core franchise and explain its overall purpose.

When asked in more detail about the episodic model being introduced, Marc-Alexis Cote compared it to – of all things – Lost.

But for me, it’s like a TV show right? Like Lost for example. Players get a lot of questions in the first episode and then grow into the story. And then they get their answers by the end. The only thing is that the end is more satisfying in our case, than it is with Lost, in my opinion.

Right, well, we won’t have to worry about all the cast of Assassin’s Creed 3 standing around in a church, hugging and kissing one another, while King Washington clings onto the base of his throne, then? Good. Glad to hear it.

The full interview with Marc-Alexis Cote is now live.

The first episode of The Tyranny of King Washington releases on Xbox, PS3 and PC next week.
