Despite the obvious comparisons to Microsoft’s upcoming sea-faring adventure, there won’t be any Pirates of the Caribbean DLC.
Questioned by some fans of Twitter today, Rare confirmed they ‘won’t be adding anything specific to other IPs.’
Don’t worry, though, because ‘you will get a heavy dose of pirate goodness every time you play Sea of Thieves.’
A shame, perhaps, but we also love Rare are doing their whole thing with pirates and staying original without crossing over between worlds.
We do know Sea of Thieves will get plenty of DLC content post launch, it just won’t be Pirates of the Caribbean themed.
Sea of Thieves is a massive open world adventure which releases March 20 on PC and Xbox One.
