Anthony Starr not reprising his role as Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1 DLC

In a surprising development, The Boys actor Anthony Starr is not doing voice work for the Mortal Kombat 1 DLC.

The news follows the announcement that J.K Simmons will be reprising his role as Omni-Man in the first Season Pass. It currently remains unclear if John Cena will be back as Peacemaker.

As discovered on Instagram, via Eurogamer,  Anthony Starr has replied to a fan asking if he’s going to voice Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1. To which he’s replied ‘nope’.

This is a real shame as Starr is absolutely the best part of The Boys TV show and his special kind of menace would have been fantastic in the Mortal Kombat setting. But I guess it’s not to be.

Omni-Man is the first content drop and is launching this month, with other characters including Quan Chi, Ermac and Takeda to come.

Mortal Kombat 1 is now available.
