I guess we’re in a time where game launches can also happen on Christmas Day and retro classics at that.

Arcade Archives: Space Invaders is the next game in the illustrious series that’s included classics such as Ridge Racer, MegaBlast, Bombjack and many more.

This is also a landmark moment as it will be the 500th AA release to date.

Originally released in 1978 by Taito, and has been recreated with both the classic black and white and colour versions, as well as reproduced with retro sounds.

Space Invaders will launch simultaneously across 5 platforms, being Switch 1, 2, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

As with all prvious AA releases, this will include save slots, rewind functionality, new screen settings, leaderboards, and even VRR and Time Attack Modes if you pick up the Arcade Archives 2 version for current gen hardware.
