Here it is, the eagerly awaited next installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.
Two days after screenshots of the next Assassins Creed game were leaked by Kotaku.com – Ubisoft themselves went ahead of schedule and released a short video, offering up a sneaky peek of where the franchise was headed next.
The game titled Assassin’s Creed Unity would appear to be taking players to Paris during the French revolution. The game has apparently been three years in development and Ubisoft had this comment to go along with the video.
“Qu’ils mangent de la brioche [Let them eat cake]! We have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed for more than three years and although we weren’t quite ready to show you our full vision for a next-gen only AC, it seems Abstergo are trying to force our hand! So here’s a true first look at in-game footage from Assassin’s Creed Unity. Stay tuned – we’ll have many more exciting details for you in the months ahead!”
The video offers few details on the game itself. All we know is that the French revolution will take a central role in Unity, guillotines will be used as part of game play and, of course, the game itself looks incredibly pretty. It will also be a next-gen exclusive, only coming to Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. Beyond that, who knows? The trailer, however, does prompt a release for the holiday period of 2014 and no doubt we will be learning more on the game in the coming months.
