The first major content patch for the PS4 version of Blacklight Retribution has gone live today.
The major addition is a brand new mode: Onslaught. Onslaught is an endless horde mode that pits four players against waves of infected. The objective is to survive by building loadouts and strategising for as long as possible. Each wave and enemy type will force you to change up your gameplay.
There are also two new maps: Decay and Metro. Metro pits players in an abandoned subway station and features much of its action in narrow corridors. Decay, meanwhile, is a slum fortress in the most rundown area of the city that features threats from above and below.
The patch also adds Private servers to the game, enabling players to set up matches for local fun. There are also significant matchmaking improvements, making it easier for players to find a game through host migration and selection. This will be tuned in further updates and Zombie have added new tools to help them accomplish this.
There is also improved frame rates, faster loading times and a smoother overall experience.
The update can be downloaded right now. We’ll have a Patch Review to follow…
