Remedy recently revealed that they plan to make Ongoing Live Multiplayer games but Control will not be one of them.
It had previously been reported by some outlets that Control would be a single and multiplayer experience, but in an interview we had at Gamescom with Associate Community Manager, Vida Starčević, she confirmed that was not the case.
“That’s not happening. Control is a singleplayer only experience.”
There had been rumours of a co-op mode in Control thanks to a leak on the Xbox Dashboard.
Remedy themselves also briefly hinted at multiplayer in the game but it appears that’s not happening.
The full transcript can be seen here but Vida also went into detail on the ‘New Weird’ focus of Control and some of its influences and inspirations, the reaction to the game, and why it’s different from Quantum Break.
