Curious Expedition 2 recently entered Steam Early Access and the team have already released the first major content update.

Entitled The Island Before Time, there’s now a new ‘prehistoric landscape type with its own set of creatures and items’

This unlocks for the player in 1888 and offers an all new tileset with giant mushrooms, burning sulfur lakes and more.

Other new features include volcanoes, tons of new enemy types like Pteranadons, additional hazards, and items like an Obsidian Shard.

Update 1 also adds some big changes like a new XP and Promotion System where most XP is now given to the whole party.

There’s also some combat improvements, new content like additional locations and events and other balance changes.

We loved the original Curious Expedition when it launched on PS4 recently and look forward to trying out CE2 at some point in the near future.
