Dredge DLC The Iron Rig delayed to 2024, new content coming later this year

Following the recent release of free boat customization content, we’ve now got an update on Dredge’s first premium DLC.

Black Salt Games took to Steam and Social Media to make the difficult announcement that their upcoming premium DLC The Iron Rig needs a bit more time to complete and will miss its original Q4 2023 release window.

The paid DLC was the next step on their roadmap but in order to ‘coordinate our marketing and make the launch as exciting as it could be.’  they realised the content needed more time and will now release it in 2024.

However, it does sound like they have something else up their collective sleeves for us before the end of the year based on this particular quote…

We were genuinely disheartened because we knew had made a commitment to all our dedicated players, but we firmly believed there was only one path forward and that was to delay ‘The Iron Rig’ until next year while still delivering an exciting DLC to our players in 2023.

They go on further with this…

So, we’ve been hard at work crafting some additional content and we can’t wait to share more details with you soon, including when it will be available and how much it will cost. We understand that this isn’t what we had originally promised but we hope you understand. Your support means the world to us.

Quite what that content will include is anyone’s guess but it sounds like some premium DLC will still release for Dredge this year, with the bigger, more meatier experience of The Iron Rig now launching in 2024.

Dredge, meanwhile, is out now and has already benefited from three free updates since launch, including a photo mode, map markers, and boat customisation.
