The quacking original Duck Detective has a sequel and it’s another gem.
Happy Broccoli have put our fun-loving wise-quacker in another hard-boiled no-murder case full of humor, fun characters and a spectacularly spooky setting.
It’s a short adventure of around 4 hours like the last, but the writing keeps up, the characters feel distinct, the motivations interesting and the plot starts out simply but builds into something quite unexpected.
As the Duck Detective you’ll interrogate suspects, learn their identities, solve small individual mysteries that link together to help you solve the larger mystery and study the environment for clues.
Duck Detective is joined by his faithful house mate, the Investigator Freddy, who you can walk alongside and chat with throughout the adventure for wise-cracks and pep-talks.
The game is beautifully animated and designed with a stunning visual style through animated cut scenes and cut-out Paper Mario style movement as you move through the Duck’s offices and the encampment they’ve decided to stay at.
The game’s voice acting is also beautifully arranged, with each actor playing their role to perfection and the game’s music splendidly playing along in the background.
Everything about the game is beautifully arranged, paced expertly, doesn’t outstay its welcome and draws a satisfying conclusion to the story while also opening the door for something new.
The Ghost of Glamping is a great little adventure game that isn’t too taxing, not too simple, and is perfect for all ages with Duck’s wise quacks and smug sense of humor bringing more than a little smile to the face. A delight.
