DuckTales Remastered developer, WayForward Technologies, have expanded on the original plot to Capcom’s DuckTales in order to satisfy questions that were left previously unanswered, such as why Scrooge McDuck was fighting a rat on the moon and why his nephews were kidnapped.
In an interview with Siliconera Capcom producer, Rey Jimenez explains,
“In the NES version, you fight a big rat and it didn’t explain why you’re fighting a rat on the moon. That’s explained in here because there are rats they’re experimenting on and you let them loose and that becomes the rat down there. Also, how does Scrooge McDuck breathes on the moon? We explain that as well.”
The full voice cast for the original cartoon will be joining Scrooge McDuck’s voice actor, Alan Young, for this remastered edition of the NES classic.
The game also includes a new tutorial that acquaints everyone with the characters and the story.
DuckTales Remastered will be released as a downloadable game for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U this summer.
