An Early Look At Titanfall

One of the most exciting aspects of the next gen consoles set to be released, undoubtedly, is the massive new games that are coming with them. The fact is, gaming news has been rather stale for the past several years. Sure, there are always a few new gaming apps coming out to help us interact with friends and pass down time. Additionally, online casino gaming has made significant strides, and users at BetFair and similar online communities can now enjoy brand new gaming models featuring real money gambling anytime, anywhere. But the explosion of online gambling and the app industry only go so far in terms of immersive gaming experiences. The real treasure always has been and always will be a big time new console game – which is exactly what new Xbox 360/Xbox One game “Titanfall” looks to be.

With the next gen consoles, there will likely be a number of innovative new franchises launching, and some will even be available on Xbox 360 and PS3 (as well as PC) before the new consoles are released. Such is the case with Titanfall, which is being created by the same people who are behind Call Of Duty. So what exactly is the game? Here’s a bit about what we know so far.

The game is set in the far reaches of space in the distant future, where humanity has stretched itself to a boundary of outer solar systems and colonies known only as “The Frontier.” It is not a densely populated region, but one where adventurers, explorers, outcasts and soldiers abound – and where the Titans and Pilots play out their various conflicts.

In this game, the “Titans” are essentially giant mechs that can serve various purposes, but most notably are used in combat. The “Pilots” are agents of varying skill and certification who, at the highest skill levels, can both pilot Titans in combat and act as effective ground soldiers on their own.

Naturally, having come from the folks at Respawn, the game is expected to have a very CoD-esque feel to it in terms of the first-person shooter action, and even the early images of gameplay seem to resemble CoD in detail and general style. However, the inclusion of the mech “Titans” adds a distinct difference that could make this game a bit of a pioneer in first person shooters. Also worth noting, although we have very few details regarding specific multiplayer modes and functions, the game has promised to blur the lines between campaign mode and multiplayer with some innovative new ideas, which should be a significant aspect of the game.

Ultimately, as mentioned, gaming news in the past few years has been a bit on the stale side. But with the next gen consoles inspiring new games like Titanfall, we should be in for an exciting few years in gaming. And in some cases, you don’t even have to wait for the new consoles to start on some new material!
