The latest game from Don’t Nod is finally here and playable from today on PC, Xbox and on PS+ Premium

It’s only the first of two parts, of course, with Rage coming a little later on April 15. But in Bloom there’s a couple of sections that might cause some hiccups, including getting into the Log Cabin a little over halfway through.

We’ve got just the thing to help you out, though, and will tell you how you can help Swan join up with her friends after she gets locked inside.

Around halfway through the game, Swan, Autumn, Kat and Nora are coming back through the woods at night having filmed a music video at the local nature park.

When watching back their footage on Swan’s camcorder, there’s some distortions and interuptions in the footage and it reminds the group of what happened the night before.

As they try to get home, they stumble across an old, abandoned log cabin which none of them can swear they’ve seen before. Kat being Kat, decides she really wants to take a look inside.

With Swan’s help they find an opening in a window and Swan tumbles inside dropping her camera. With the friends unable to follow and the door locked, Swan needs to find a way to let them in. Here’s how you do it…

Get your camera back

First things first, lead Swan towards the door and with the open hatchway, take the camcorder back from Kat. You’re going to need it in order to see and find exactly what you’re looking for.

Opening the door

You’ll immediately find the door is locked tight and on closer inspection, has a padlock on it with four dials, each with different shapes like leaves, hearts, and snakes. With the camcorder in hand, you’ll start to see these various shapes dotted all around the old cabin, on the walls, hidden in the attic and on bed frames. You’ll need to find the right shapes and combination to let them in.

Find the instructions on the pillar opposite the door

Fortunately, the instructions on how to do it are right in front of you. Turn around completely with your back to the door and walk ahead to the pillar in front of you, and there you’ll see a series of diagrams with numbers above them, with 1 representing the first dial on the combination and 4 representing the last. Each diagram hints at where you can find the shape you need to unlock the door.

How to find the symbols

Once you’ve looked at the document, go into camcorder view, turn back to the door and look above it. You’ll notice the video feed distorts. When it does this, you’ll know you’ve found one of the four necessary symbols to unlock the door. As the diagram shows, 1 can be seen above the door and is an eye shape. If you remember as well, the first dial is actually broken on the padlock, which confirms you’re on the right track and can use the same approach to find the remaining three shapes.

The second symbol can be found up in the attic. Take a right into the room and you’ll notice a cord dangling from the ceiling. Pull it and you can climb up a ladder to head upstairs. When you’re in the attic, immediately turn around, shining a light on the wall and the feed will distort again. You should see a Moon Shape on the wall.

The third symbol is down in the kitchen area. Climb back down through the trapdoor and when you’re back facing into the main cabin area, immediately look to your right with the camera and the feed will distort again. Turn off camera mode and start looking at the different cans in front of you. The one you need should be the furthest on the left of the kitchen. Pick it up, look underneath and you’ll find a ‘Leaf Shape’.

The fourth and final symbol is behind the bear trap. From the kitchen, walk forward, past the bed and look at the bear trap hanging on the wall. All you have to do is examine it in detail, leave and it will give you a bit of a jump scare by snapping closed. After the initial fright, you should see it was covering the fourth and final shape underneath it – Stars.

What’s the combination for the padlock?

After finding all of the shapes, you have everything you need to unlock the door. Head back to the padlock and with the eye shape already set in place, dial the other three symbols in this order..
