While it had been widely expected Afterbirth+ would be the final piece of DLC for The Binding of Isaac, creator Edmund McMillen may have given fans hope for more.
Released back in 2011 and seemingly now on every format known to humankind, The Binding of Isaac is a cult gaming favourite and the Afterbirth+ booster was originally intended to be the final bit of DLC for the game.
But during a big Q&A on McMillen’s Tumblr account, fresh speculation was created about another piece of The Binding of Isaac DLC.
McMillen says.
“I did say many times this was going to be the last isaac DLC.. and at the time i strongly believed it. but there seems to be something pretty cool on the horizon, its creeping up slowly.. its familiar but a bit different and its being held up by a group of people… when i squint i think i can make out a… oh sorry i gotta go, there is someone watching me in my space ship.”
What that means is anyone’s guess, but we do know that the final free content booster for Afterbirth+ is being developed for PC and will release in the next month or so, adding more content than previous versions. Once it releases, Nicalis will bring them all to consoles, though the first three are currently available.
McMillen was also asked about the possibility of an Isaac 2, to which he replied.
I have no idea, but please leave me alone.
McMillen also talked about his latest game, The End is Nigh, as well as his family, and his upcoming title, The Legend of Bum-bo. Read the full transcript here.
