NBA 2K20 just landed on the courts of PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in three different versions.
With so much variety, you might still be trying to work out which version is right for you. This years’ edition comes with a lot of extras.
We’ve broken down what’s in each of the three editions of the game, overviewing the content along the way.
NBA 2K20 Standard £39.99
This is the base game with NBA Star Anthony Davis on the cover against a reddened background.
This year, NBA 2K20 has an open-world neighbourhood to explore, with more realistic player control using an upgraded motion engine.
This edition includes no content extras, but you will get the entire NBA 2K20 experience, including the MyCAREER campaign narrated by Idris Elba and Rosario Dawson, MyGM/MyLEAGUE, MyTEAM and all WNBA teams.
Grab this edition of the game if you just want to dive into NBA 2K20 and aren’t really focusing on further customisation, MyTEAM, or LEAGUE.
NBA 2K20 Digital Deluxe £54.99
Anthony Davis is once again on the cover but against a golden background. And this time he’s bringing some goodies with him
The Digital Deluxe Edition firstly adds a whopping 35,000 Virtual Currency for you to spend in-game. VC can be earned organically in game through MyCareer but you’ll likely only get about 600-700 per game. So this is a real fast-track for you.
VC can be spent on things like upgrading player attributes, new apparel, and increasing your overall playing potential in MyCAREER. It can also be spent in MyTeam to buy fantasy card packs and on MyGM mode if you want to build your own league.
Digital Deluxe also adds 10,000 MyTEAM points. Again, these can be earned organically, but this fast-tracks the process and it’s the primary currency using in MyTEAM modes. This mode lets you build your own squads and compete in 3 on 3 team-based modes.
With changes to Unlimited Modes and the Auction House and the inclusion of Evolution Cards, there’s some great reasons to spend on the game this year.
The Digital Deluxe Edition also includes 10 MyCAREER Skill Boosts, so you can improve certain attributes immediately, and a Clothing Capsule which gives you some cool exclusive customisables for characters.
To round it off, you’ll get 10 MyTEAM League Packs (one delivered each week), 10 MyTEAM Heat Check Packs (one delivered each week at the beginning of the NBA Season.
And to round it off, 1 Sapphire MyTEAM Cover Athlete Card. These are impact players that usually have 84-86 ratings, so just by buying this edition you’ll get one great card to immediately add to your collection. Nice!
NBA 2K20 Legend Edition £69.99
This edition has Dwayne Wade on the front against palm trees on a blue background and offers the best value for money.
Kicking this one off is 100,000 Virtual Currency, over double what you get in the Digital Deluxe Edition and can be spent in the same way.
You also get 4 x more MyTEAM points with 50,000 Points in this edition of the game, along with 20 MyCAREER Skill Boosts. Yowsers!
As with the Digital Deluxe, you’ll get a Clothing Capsule, but also an Apparel Collection for MyPLAYER, including a ‘Pick 10’ MyPLAYER Shoe Collection.
The Legend Edition gives you ten more MyTEAM League Packs, 20 total with one delivered each week and 20 MyTEAM Heat Check Packs.
To round it off, you will also get 5 MyTEAM Themed Packs (one per theme release across the first five releases) and 2 Sapphire MyTEAM Cover Athlete Cards.
