One of the huge surprises in today’s PlayStation Showcase was the announcement of a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake.
Launching on PC and on PS5 as a console exclusive at launch, Aspyr Media are working with Lucasfilm to rebuild the original classic from the ground up!
Information is still scarce outside of the short teaser trailer we saw during the showcase but most interestingly the game is not coming to Xbox, at least in the first instance, which was the original home for the game.
This will be a re-telling of the legendary tale and it seems Jennifer Hale, who played Bastila in the original game, will reprise her role. We also saw Darth Revan during the teaser.
Aspyr have recently remastered other Star Wars releases, such as Republic Commando and Bounty Hunter but this is set to be the most ambitious thing they’ve ever done.
Douglas Reilly, VP at Lucasfilm Games, says..
“Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic stands out among the Legends of Star Wars storytelling, and we’re thrilled to be joining with Aspyr and Sony to remake this Legend for a new generation of players,”
Lucasfilm Games have already been making headlines this year with their collaboration with Bethesda and Machine Games on an Indiana Jones title as well as re-release of cult classic Zombies Ate My Neighbours.
