The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor explores the Dark Heart of Skyrim in 2020

Bethesda have announced the next major expansion and interconnected adventure for The Elder Scrolls Online.

Entitled Greymoor, this follows 2019’s Year of the Dragon and will let players return to Skyrim.

While locations and sequences will be familiar, though, this is the world of Skyrim as you’ve never seen it before.

Western Skyrim is being added as a new zone, as well as the Blackreach cavern which is expanded from the place players visited in ESV. In total, there will be around 30 hours of new adventures.

Set 900 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Greymoor will also notice some big differences, such as an Ancient Vampire Lord leading an army of witches and werewolves

Returning from the base game are Lyris Titanborn and House Ravenwatch, and there will be major new world events, like the Harrowstorms, and gameplay changes, including an Antiquities system.

You’ll also be able to tackle a brand new 12 player Trial known as Kyne’s Aegis.

The Dark Heart of Skyrim will have four updates in 2020, beginning with a Prologue quest free to all, and the Harrowstorm DLC dungeon pack. This will then be followed by Greymoor in May to June time and rounded out by a Q3 Dungeon Pack and a Q4 Story DLC.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor comes to PC on May 18, with Xbox One and PS4 owners receiving it on June 2.
