Unfortunately, the wait for Cuphead’s delicious sounding DLC will go on into 2021.
Studio MDHR first confirmed the content back at E3 2018, originally pencilling in a 2019 release for the expansion.
It’s due to be sizeable in scope with a brand new island as well as a new character, Ms Chalice, so it’s clear there’s a lot of work going into this new content.
Cuphead and Mugman are also expected to get new weapons and charms, and Ms Chalice will have unique abilities which can also be brought over into the base Cuphead game. The expectation is Ms Chalice might make the game a little easier for those who’ve found Cuphead challenging.
Sadly, Studio MDHR have cited COVID-19 as part of the reason for the delay but want to ensure this content is their best work.
In a Twitter image, they’ve stated that meeting the required standards of quality has been ‘extremely challenging’ but they feel this delay will be best for the content and when it’s released it ‘will delight the Cuphead community the way we feel it should’.
In the wake of the ongoing global pandemic affecting so many, we have made the difficult decision to push back the release of The Delicious Last Course. For our wonderful Cuphead community, we’ve prepared a letter from Studio MDHR founders Chad & Jared Moldenhauer to share more. pic.twitter.com/XiU57Wcn1y

It’s a piece of content we’ve been really looking forward to here at Expansive and we’ll continue to monitor its release closely.
We can’t wait to hear more in 2021!
