GameFront have come across a mysterious listing for ‘Bootcamp’ on the Korean Ratings Board and had Microsoft confirm that there is indeed a project in the works with that name.
What it is, however, is anyone’s guess…
One thing we know for sure, it’s not a PC port of Halo 3. NeoGAF users have run the description through a translator from Korean to English and offered up the following results…
“‘Halo’ as a third-person point of view based on the worldview of the mission is going to be executing an action game of water
Minor violence representation (expressed as mere weaponry, attacks and a third-person point-of-blood description)
Thus, article 21 of the law on the promotion of the game industry and the provisions of article 9, paragraph 3, classified according to the classification as a ‘ 15 ‘ decision.”
Surprisingly, Microsoft acknowledged the leak and actually gave GameFront a bit more information.
“What’s Bootcamp? It is not related to our Xbox One efforts, or the Reclaimer Saga, but rather a project we’re very enthusiastic about and will have more to say about in the near future.”
Being a third-person action/adventure, could this be the long-in-development, on again, off again Halo MMO? A project was worked on in secret some years back, but when the studio closed, Microsoft revealed a Halo MMO had been in the works.
Here’s a few pictures to refresh your memory…
Whatever the case maybe, it seems Bootcamp will be a spin-off of the Halo series in someway. More details as Microsoft release them.
