Mortal Kombat 11 was fully revealed during an event in Los Angeles today and we now know the games’ DLC plans.
Shao Khan can be added to the game if you pre-order Mortal Kombat 11 now. It’s unconfirmed whether you will be able to purchase him separately at a later date, but we suspect that will be the case.
Those who pre-order will also gain access to the Mortal Kombat 11 beta which begins on March 28th.
As expected, Mortal Kombat 11 will have a Premium and Kollector’s Edition for those who want a bit more. The Premium Edition comes bundled with the Kombat Pack which will offer early access to new fighters, as well as skins, and other content. Meanwhile the Kollector’s Edition will give you a steelbook as well as extra special packaging and a Scorpion Mask.
The Kombat Pass is expected to get fully revealed during a January 30 Kombat Kast, however the event gave us the briefest hint that one of the characters included in the pass is Kabal, a fan-favourite from Mortal Kombat 3. This is actually really interesting as the early leaks from the game – while they got certain things right – never mentioned Kabal as a possibility.
It is anticipated there will be six DLC characters in total for the Kombat Pass, as well as 7 skins and 7 sets of gear.
We also learned that Ronda Rousey will be performing as Sonya Blade, and the rest of the currently confirmed roster includes Scorpion, Baraka, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Skarlet from Mortal Kombat 9 and brand new, time-bending character, Geras.
Mortal Kombat 11 will release April 23 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
