Today, the team at Red Barrels confirmed a PS4 and PC release for Outlast’s first DLC, Whistleblower. The expansion is considered a prequel, but it resolves the final chapter of Mount Massive Asylum’s story.
Players will be cast as Waylon Park, the software engineer who emails the leaks to journalists in the main game. Players will pick up with Weylon at a time when he has spent weeks at Mount Massive and has been unable to speak to his family due to security issues. Weylon is starting to distrust the system and the controversial experiments being conducted and finds himself identifying with the subjects. This sets the stage for his final betrayal.
